Our cattle operation has evolved over the years from raising Beefmasters to, using  Charlois & Hereford Bulls on Black Angus Cows. We have synchronized our cows to a 90 day breeding period.  We have found that when the calving period is shorter, the calves are more uniform and generally sell better.  We have found that in average rainfall years our calves wean off at 700 pounds at 8 months old.

We have recently began running Hereford bulls with our younger cows for second calves.  We currently run about 350 mother cows on about 6500 acres.  We also buy some  feeder calves for  winter wheat.

We buy quality breed heifers in the fall for our replacements in the spring.  We have bought larger groups of heifers off good ranches each year for our replacements.
